How we serve.

HOW OUR PROCESS WORKS

  • SVP Austin encourages engaged philanthropy by unlocking the latent potential of Austin’s professional community. We recruit a full range of skills-based volunteers who are interested in having social impact.

  • Nonprofit leaders reach out to us when they are needing any number of advisory services, often not even knowing what they need. After listening to their challenges, we work with them to design a scope of work for the engagement .

  • Our Advisory Services team identifies a qualified Lead Partner, one with strong management experience and/or subject matter expertise. We outline the skills and time needed, and invite other SVPs to form a team to tackle the project.

  • Each Project Charter we adopt with our nonprofit partner documents the success metrics they are working toward. We continually try to track and measure impact of the work, and are often called back to help with another project!

Our Priority Areas of Concern

The landscape of nonprofit organizations in Central Texas is vast. SVP Austin has identified two critical areas whereby concentrating our efforts can achieve the most impact for individuals in need. While we invite requests from any nonprofit, we prioritize those advancing these areas.

Jobs & Economic Mobility

The upward trajectory of our eligible workers in Austin is critical not only for that worker's personal and family well-being but for the continued economic sustainability of our region.

While many drivers and variables are influencing the journey of individual workers, it's the gaps created by inequality that are the most powerful barriers to economic mobility.

Supporting the health of that entire ecosystem, from individuals to employers - and all the nonprofits and agencies striving to clear those opportunity paths- is a critical need.

Well-being & Essential Needs

A person's well-being is critical for their dignity and respect. A sense of acceptance and connection to others creates social stability and builds confidence so they can be inspired and take the initiative to pursue sustainable living.

Without a person's essential needs being met, their well-being is seriously compromised. One must eat, be clothed, have their health (physical and mental), and shelter to survive and thrive.

Those struggling to maintain their well-being need the community to show up for them.
